At AGL Skills, we believe that people from marginalised communities deserve more than just a seat at the table, they deserve platforms shaped with them, for them, and by them. Our work is grounded in lived experience and collective action, drawing on decades of progress led by Disabled People’s Organisations (DPOs), which since the 1980s have championed independence, choice, and control across the UK.
While meaningful strides have been made, particularly in areas such as direct payments and person-centred approaches, we know that systemic inequality remains. Disabled people and other marginalised groups continue to face exclusion, underrepresentation, and long-term economic disadvantage.
AGL Skills exists to help change that reality. We work alongside DPOs and community-led organisations and people to develop innovative, inclusive training that goes beyond advocacy. Our focus is on building skills, confidence, and opportunities that lead to real economic empowerment, sustainable change, and a fairer future for all.

Our mission is to support and empower disabled people, Disabled People’s Organisations (DPOs), and other marginalised communities by co-developing accessible and inclusive online training courses.

AGL Skills was established in January 2026 by founders who are not disabled, but who have spent many years working alongside people with lived experience of systems that were never designed with them in mind.

We’re preparing to launch the first course on the AGL Skills platform in Spring 2026. Rooted in lived experience and community leadership, this marks the beginning of accessible, inclusive training designed to build power and change.
